Instructions
Step 1:
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Step 2:
Put the chicken in a roasting pan and carefully apply salt & pepper on the inside and outside. Onion powder should be used both inside and outside. Put three tablespoons of margarine inside the chicken. Cover the exterior of the chicken with the remaining margarine. Place the celery in the chicken cavity after cutting it into three or four pieces.
Step 3:
For about 1 hour and 15 minutes, bake the chicken, uncovered, in the preheated oven until the juices run clear and the meat is no longer pink at the bone. In the thickest region of the thigh, close to the bone, an instant-read thermometer should read 180 degrees F. (82 degrees C). Remove from heat and baste with melted margarine and cooking drippings. Before serving, give the food around 30 minutes to rest under a foil cover.
- 1 whole chicken (3 pounds), giblets removed
